St. Bernards Pharmacy

St. Bernards pharmacists are integrated into patient care throughout the organization. Our mission is to strive to improve the quality of life of anyone we come in contact with, in all that we do. Pharmacists and technicians provide services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Centralized pharmacists actively participate in medication order verification and medication distribution. Decentralized pharmacists serve as the core of our clinical practice, having a presence in the emergency department, adult intensive care, neonatal intensive care and pediatrics, oncology, hospice house, and the majority of the adult medical floors. Pharmacists utilize clinical surveillance software to assist with pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation monitoring, IV to PO, and opioid stewardship. Pharmacists are actively involved in medication utilization reviews, adverse drug event monitoring, protocol management, interdisciplinary rounds, and numerous committees. We also serve as a teaching site for the UAMS College of Pharmacy and Harding University College of Pharmacy.
