St. Bernards Laboratory Department operates with the latest, state-of-the-art equipment that enables our experienced staff to handle a high volume of procedures with speed and accuracy. A large variety of specialized laboratory services are provided in-house at St. Bernards. They include Histology, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Specimen Processing, Phlebotomy, Serology and TB Fungus.
SBMC Department of Laboratory Services is licensed by the State Department of Health Services and participates in inspection and accreditation programs conducted by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks. The laboratory participates in a broad range of Proficiency Testing surveys. Each section within the department has extensive internal and external quality control programs, which meet and/or exceed all current federal and state requirements.
The St. Bernards Reference Lab runs courier service to many areas in Northeast Arkansas. Specimens are brought to the Reference lab for processing, and testing is completed in the St. Bernards Laboratory. In addition, there are three locations open for your convenience, where blood can be drawn. Pease bring in the physician's order and your insurance information when getting blood work.
