Gastroenterology Laboratory (GI Lab)

When visiting our GI Lab, a patient should expect to be with us for approximately two to three hours, which includes both the procedure and recovery time. The GI Lab patient must be kept in recovery and monitored until the nurse feels the patients reach an acceptable alertness score and is ready for discharge. Located on Level M of the Diagnostic and Treatment Center, our GI Lab deals with problems of the digestive system from the esophagus to the colon, including organs involved in digestion-the liver, pancreas and gallbladder.
