Beverly Nix Stone, MHA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer
Beverly Nix Stone has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Bernards Healthcare Associated Regional Providers (SHARP) since its inception in 1993. Under her guidance SHARP has grown from zero to 385,000 plus covered lives within Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. The service area has grown from 3 counties to 22 counties in Arkansas and added providers in Tennessee and Missouri.

She oversees all aspects of the organization on a day to day basis. Responsibilities include: business development, client relationships, staffing requirements, sales and marketing, employer data reporting, medical management and having an extensive knowledge of the evolving healthcare industry, the insurance industry and the implications of such to the healthcare providers and employers.

Beverly received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Arkansas State University and she has her Masters degree in Healthcare Administration. Beverly is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Beverly performs volunteer work for many local community and professional organizations. She is the Past Chairman of the Board for the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, St. Bernards Women's Advisory Council and American Red Cross “ The Greater Ozarks “ Blood Services, which includes Arkansas and Western Tennessee, and is currently the Chairman of the ASU Chancellor's Cabinet. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas State University Research & Development Institute, the St. Bernards Healthcare Advisory, the Jonesboro Economic Development Corporation the St. Bernard's Medical Group, and a member of Jonesboro Unlimited. She serves the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce as Transportation Committee Chair. Beverly is a graduate of Leadership Jonesboro and a past commissioner for the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the Auditorium Commission.

Beverly was named a Distinguished Alumni for Arkansas State University in 2012. She was inducted into the Legacy Society at ASU in 2010. Beverly was chosen as one of the top 10 female executive for Arkansas in 2012. In November of 2014, Beverly was named as one of the top 8 Influential Women in Arkansas by Arkansas Money and Politics. Beverly has also been honored as the Jonesboro Business Woman of the Year twice, once in 1991 and again in 2002.

Shelley Fountain, RN, Medical Management Director
Shelley Fountain is the Medical Management Director and has been with SHARP since May 2014. Shelley is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational aspects of the Medical Management Department. She oversees the collaborative process that will assess, plan implement, monitor, evaluate and coordinate the options and services to ensure cost effective care based on the needs of the patient. The goal is to find how to obtain and deliver the best care within the structure of the patient's health benefit plan. Shelley works closely with the Medical Director in monitoring quality of care and services provided to patients, access and availability of services and clinical adequacy of care.

Shelley has been a Registered Nurse since June 2010. Shelley brings to SHARP experience in Hospital Nursing Administration, General Surgery and Bariatric Unit, Cardiovascular Intensive Care and the Step- Down/Progressive Care Unit. Shelley earned her degree at Northeastern College in Blytheville. She has been certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Alex Hogan, Director of Systems
Alex Hogan is the Director of Systems and is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of the information systems. He is also responsible for the loading of procedure codes, fees, contracts to ensure the efficiency of the managed care software and maintains the fee schedules according to contracts and amends updates. Alex creates utilization and demographic reports as needed.

Alex has strong managerial, organizational and customer relations skills. His expertise is in computer hardware, networking and ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of in-house information system. Alex's experience has grown and strengthened as evidenced by a strong history at St. Bernard Medical Center where he was an Application Analyst, at Nucor Steel he held the position of Business System Developer. Alex received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology from Arkansas State University.
Karen Richardson RN, Medical Management Coordinator
Karen Richardson is our Medical Management Coordinator who assists the Medical Management Director with case management and claims processing,. Karen also assists with patient pre-certifications and referrals. Karen obtained both an Associate of Arts and an Associate in Nursing from Arkansas Northeastern College and has been a Registered Nurse since May 1993. She completed requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences in 2004.
Karen has a wide range of nursing experience including Nursing Administration, Quality Assurance, Nursing Instructor, Correctional Healthcare, Emergency Room, Inpatient Hospital, Outpatient Clinic, and Behavioral Health. She also worked as a travel nurse in locations including Arizona, North Carolina and Alaska. She has been certified in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Denise Johansen, Medical Management Coordinator
Denise monitors the daily workflow, working closely with the Medical Management Director. Responsibilities include: organizing and processing the daily workings of the department including: pre-certification requests for inpatient admission and outpatient surgeries, narcotic reviews, referral requests, and claims processing

Denise began her education at Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas where she earned her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing in June 2000. She graduated Ozarka College with high honors. She furthered her education at Black River Technical College and Arkansas State University. Denise worked at St Bernards First Care Clinic for 16 years prior to joining SHARP. She brings to SHARP experience in the Primary Care clinical setting and is certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support and AED Basic Life Support.
Rachel Jones, Credentialing Coordinator
Rachel Jones is the Credentialing Coordinator for SHARP. As Credentialing Coordinator Rachel keeps the provider and facility credentialing files current in regards to the licenses and appropriate verifications. She processes paperwork for appointment and reappointment applications and handles the correspondence. Rachel also handles the annual insurance audits and is responsible for maintaining SHARP's credentialing standards in accordance to NCQA, URAC and payer delegated credentialing contract standards. She is also responsible for updating social media releases.

Rachel began her education at Arkansas State University before transferring to the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. Rachel began her career as a Patient Care Representative at Conway Women's Health Center. Rachel is an Associate member of Junior Auxiliary.
Beverly Tubbs, Reimbursement Manager
Beverly Tubbs joined SHARP as the Reimbursement Manager in May 2017. She is responsible for resolving claims questions with contracted insurance payers while ensuring daily claims are repriced correctly. She also verifies and maintains all CPT, HCPCS, and diagnosis code updates in our internal claims repricing system.

Prior to joining SHARP, Beverly worked for fifteen years as the Business Office Director at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, leading the department in process improvement on facility strategic goals. She was a credentialed trainer for the EPIC System hospital billing courses. Beverly also worked for the Vision Care Center as Insurance Representative and as Financial Counselor at The Children’s Clinic.

Beverly holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arkansas State University where she was an active member of Phi Beta Lambda and the International Business Club. She is currently on the board of the Walnut Street Baptist Daycare Committee.

Linda Waterman, Administrative Assistant
Linda is a NE Arkansas native born and raised in Lake City for most of her life until she moved to Bay, AR to finish up her senior year. Linda serves as an administrative assistant for SHARP since February of 2017 where she aids in the day to day functions of the office. Before joining SHARP, Linda served in a variety of functions over her 50 year career, from handling accounts for an auto sales business, owning a business with her husband to over 25 years in banking. Linda enjoys her family time as she and her husband have one son, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
