Occupational Therapy and Hand Therapy

Occupational therapists help patients recover or maintain the ability to perform meaningful activities or job-related functions. The Occupational Therapy department offers technology for the evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with hand injuries, neurological problems, orthopedic injuries, arthritis, open wounds and burns, working closely with the referring physician to maximize results.

Hand Therapy includes rehabilitation for the upper limb, including the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. The certified hand therapists at St. Bernards use specialized skills assessments, planning and treatment to prevent dysfunction, restore function, and reverse the effects of function-limiting diseases, trauma or acquired conditions.
