What the Screenings Check
Attend one of our monthly screening events in Jonesboro to learn about these signs of your health. (Scroll down this page to see upcoming events.)
Anemia Screening
Find out if you have enough red blood cells, which carry oxygen through your body. If you don’t have enough, you may be anemic and feel tired, dizzy, or cold. Causes of anemia include low iron, certain illnesses, or blood loss. Treatment can help you feel stronger and more alert.
Blood Pressure
Let us check your blood pressure to see how hard your heart works to pump blood. High blood pressure is common and often has no symptoms. If it’s too high, it can damage your heart, brain and kidneys. Regular checks help us find problems early and treat them before they cause harm.
Glucose (Blood Sugar)
Discover how much sugar is in your blood at the time of the test. You may learn whether you have diabetes or are at risk for it. Over time, too much blood sugar can damage your organs. Healthy eating, exercise and medications help you manage it.
Height, Weight & BMI
Sudden weight gain or loss might mean you have a medical issue. Monitor changes in your health by tracking your weight and height. These measurements help us calculate your body mass index (BMI), which shows if you’re at a healthy weight. So, we can better understand your health risks and recommend lifestyle choices.
Hemoglobin A1C
See what your average blood sugar has been over the past two or three months. This test tells us if your blood sugar is under control. It’s especially important if you have diabetes. A high A1C means your body isn’t handling sugar well and may need treatment.
Lipid Panel (Cholesterol & Fats)
Check your blood’s level of:
- Total cholesterol
- HDL (good cholesterol)
- LDL (bad cholesterol)
- Triglycerides (fats)
High levels of the wrong kinds of fats can clog your blood vessels. This raises your risk for heart attack and stroke. By knowing your numbers, we help keep your heart and brain healthy.
