If you have had an injury or illness that makes daily tasks challenging, your doctor may suggest physical therapy as a treatment. At St. Bernards, our Outpatient Physical therapy services offer individualized rehabilitation programs paired with state-of-the-art equipment for patients with an orthopedic or neurological diagnosis. Patients needing sports rehabilitation can also take advantage of state-of-the-art equipment and specialized plans for sport-related injuries. Our board-certified therapists utilized the following resources to help patients with recovery.
- Isokinetic Testing and Training
- Aquatic Therapy
- Surface EMG
Services in our physical therapy and rehabilitation service area do not limit injuries from sports or illness. Our certified specialists also offer programs for vestibular problems. After damage to the vestibular system, the central nervous system often compensates for a reduction in the function of the inner ear. Allowing the brain to cope with disorientation signals by learning to rely on cues from other systems in the body to maintain balance. St. Bernards uses the Balance Master to help evaluate and treat patients with vestibular problems to find ways to alleviate the systems and allow the patient to return to normal function.
Patients can also take advantage of our pelvic floor dysfunction therapy services. Our pelvic floor specialists are experienced in helping to relieve pain, discomfort, incontinence, and disruptions affecting the patient's quality of life. Our certified therapists understand the specialized needs of the pelvic region and how to relieve symptoms, and help get the muscles working the way they should.
St. Bernards is proud to employ exceptional physical therapists across these areas of specialization who have working relationships with physicians to get our patients back to optimal function and prevent re-injury.
