Dr. Woods specializes in medical ophthalmology and has over 44 years of experience in the field of medicine. He graduated from University of Mississippi School Of Medicine with his medical degree in 1974. Dr. Woods completed his ophthalmology training at the University Tennessee Center of Health in Memphis, TN 1977-1980 where he served as Chief Resident from 1979-1980.
Dr. Woods practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in North Carolina for over 33 years. He has a special interest in glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. He is licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board and has also been previously licensed in Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina.
His wife, Joyce Minton, was raised in Fontaine, Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas State University. He is the proud father of 2 sons, one of whom lives in Illinois and the other in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He moved to Arkansas over 3 years ago. Dr. Woods has been an active member of the Lions Club for the last 34 years and is the current President of the University Heights Lion Club. As a member of the Lions Club, Dr. Woods has been doing children’s vision screenings for the last 3 years through Lions Club.
