Dr. Emma Jacobs, Dr. Rudolph Bowens, and St. Bernard’s Urology in Jonesboro, AR, have the honor of being named an InterStim™ Center of Excellence by Medtronic, the world’s largest medical device manufacturer. The distinction is awarded to a select group of physicians who have demonstrated exemplary expertise in the use of the InterStim™ system to treat overactive bladder (also known as OAB), as well as non-obstructive urinary retention and chronic fecal incontinence.
The designation as a Center of Excellence recognizes physicians and programs that have distinguished themselves as leaders in the InterStim therapy. It has been awarded to less than one percent of all physicians currently implanting the InterStim therapy in the United States. Selection criteria are rigid and based on clinical excellence in education, patient care, case volume and outcomes.
