Dr. Gurule is a proud Jonesboro native whose roots in the community run deep. A graduate of Jonesboro High School and Arkansas State University, she went on to attend the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State) as a member of its inaugural class. Her connection to St. Bernards Medical Center began well before her career as a physician. Prior to medical school, Dr. Gurule volunteered weekly at St. Bernards and later worked as a Unit Information Coordinator in the St. Bernards Emergency Department. These early experiences serving members of her hometown community helped shape her path toward a career in medicine. Dr. Gurule was deeply influenced by NYITCOM at A-State’s mission to improve access to high-quality medical care in one of the country’s most medically underserved regions. That mission played an important role in her decision to pursue primary care—a path she remained committed to throughout her medical training. Dr. Gurule completed her Internal Medicine residency at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident. Following residency, she remained with OSU-CHS, where she practiced as a primary care physician and gained valuable experience caring for patients across all stages of adulthood. After six years away, Dr. Gurule is thrilled to return home to Jonesboro and join Clopton Clinic. For her, coming home is more than the next step in her career—it is an opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape both the person and physician she is today. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients and providing thoughtful, comprehensive primary care to the community she has always called home.
