St. Bernards Offers Community Screenings, Program on Exercise on Jan. 9

From 7 until 10 in the morning on Friday, Jan. 9, St. Bernards will offer free community screenings at St. Bernards Health & Wellness, 1416 East Matthews Ave. They will include total cholesterol, anemia, glucose, blood pressure, height/weight, body fat percentage and body mass index.

Additional tests will be available for minimal fees and include full lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides), $8.50; hemoglobin A1C (average blood sugar over three months), $6.50; and PSA (prostate specific antigen) for men 40 and older, $12.50.

Fasting for lab testing is strongly encouraged for 6 to 8 hours before the lab draw to increase accuracy of test results.

In addition, St. Bernards will sponsor a Lunch & Learn the same day from noon until 1 p.m. that will focus on “The Skinny on Exercise.” Presenter will be Adrian Sportsman, group exercise instructor and personal trainer at St. Bernards Health & Wellness, who will talk about the importance of incorporating exercise into daily activities

Program attendees must be preregistered.

The program is presented by St. Bernards Healthcare and Genentech.
