The seventh annual St. Bernards Advocates Butterfly Release is scheduled for 2-3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Oct. 12. Activities will be in the east parking lot of the St. Bernards Imaging Center, 1144 East Matthews Ave., near the water features at the side of the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
The event is sponsored by the St. Bernards Advocates and is designed as a day of celebration and remembrance. Activities will include music, arts and crafts for children and a youth art contest. Art entries will be displayed on the day of the butterfly release. Entertainment will be provided by the Jonesboro Visual Performing Arts 5th and 6th Grade Chorale.
Butterflies may be purchased in honor or in memory of family or friends by calling the St. Bernards Foundation office at 870-207-2500 or by logging on to the Foundation web site, www.stbernardsfoundation.org. Butterflies will cost $15 each or $135 for 10. Persons who would like the names of individuals being honored to be included in the written program must purchase butterflies by Oct. 8.
Proceeds will benefit the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernards, the only residential care facility for hospice patients in Northeast Arkansas.
