Medi-Pak Advantage PPO and St. Bernards Healthcare will present a two-hour program on “Bone, Joint and Back Health” on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at St. Bernards Auditorium.
It will focus on three areas of health that are particularly important as seniors age. And three healthcare experts will make brief presentations and answer questions from the audience.
Presenters will include Joanne Woodward, registered nurse and joint replacement coordinator at St. Bernards who also is orthopedic nurse certified. She will talk about ways to strengthen your joints in “Own the Bone!”
Dr. Tom Mulligan, geriatrician at St. Bernards Senior Health Clinic, will talk about medications and techniques for managing pain in his presentation “Pain, Pain Go Away.”
Brandy Lieblong, physical therapist with the Total Life Healthcare program at St. Bernards, will talk about the impact of physical activity on bone and back health in a presentation on “You Gotta Keep Moving.”
The program, planned for 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning, is offered at no charge to interested area residents. Light refreshments will be served.
Reservations are not required.
The event is one of a number of educational programs offered by the Medi-Pak Advantage PPO affiliated with St. Bernards. Others have focused on nutrition, dementia, “retirement” planning and a variety of issues of interest to seniors.
