Dr. Deepak Thomas has joined the medical staff at St. Bernards Heart and Vascular, the largest cardiology practice in the region.
The cardiologist comes to St. Bernards after completing a three-year fellowship in cardiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Prior to that Thomas served a fellowship in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard University, as well as a residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brookland. He holds a medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, India.
He is board certified in cardiovascular medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds professional membership in the American College of Cardiology.
Thomas has served on medical staffs at hospitals in Nebraska, Massachusetts and New York as well as hospitals in India.
He will see patients at St. Bernards Heart and Vascular, 201 East Oak, Jonesboro. Other cardiologists in the practice include Drs. Ahmad Al-Hindi, Max Arroyo, Ziad R. Awar, W. Brian Bailey, Jaime Rene Chavez, Ammar Hallak, Roger D. Hill, Anil Kumar, Abe Martinez, John D. McKee and Barry C. Tedder. Two electrophysiologists are among the 16 physicians in the clinic – Drs. Devi G. Nair and Afamefuna Onuroa. Cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgeons in the practice are Drs. Jack S. Havdala and Richard Stevenson.
