Dr. Ahmed S. Ahmed has joined physicians at St. Bernards Heart & Vascular as an interventional cardiologist.
He earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sedan, before coming to the United States for advanced medical training.
Ahmed comes to Heart & Vascular having completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospital. Before that, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine – Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute.
He also completed an internal medicine residency program at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
The physician has published peer-reviewed articles in professional journals and holds membership in a number of professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the Society of Vascular Ultrasound and the American College of Physicians.
He and his wife, Hadia, have an 11-month-old son, Salah.
Ahmed is one of 23 new physicians in the St. Bernards Class of 2016.
