Dr. Sabeeda KadavathInterventional Cardiologist Dr. Sabeeda Kadavath joined the heart and vascular team practicing at St. Bernards Medical Center, specializing in catheter-based procedures that treat heart and valve conditions.

Dr. Kadavath arrives at St. Bernards after completing a General Cardiology Fellowship with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship with the University of Vermont Medical Center and a Structural Heart Disease Fellowship with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A native of India, Dr. Kadavath earned her medical degree in her home country before completing an Internal Medicine Residency with Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center in New York.

Dr. Kadavath said she sees commonality throughout her time practicing cardiology.

“Cardiovascular disease does not respect regions, ages, genders or ethnicities,” Dr. Kadavath said, “but it particularly affects Arkansas and the Mid-South region as a whole.”

The most recent CDC data cites nearly 700,000 Americans dying annually from cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of deaths nationwide at more than 20 percent. Cardiovascular disease’s mortality rate in Arkansas, meanwhile, sits as the fourth highest among all 50 states, claiming more than 8,500 Arkansans each year.

“Even more focused, Northeast Arkansas has some of the highest death rates from heart disease in the nation,” Dr. Kadavath said. “As an Interventional Cardiologist, we care for patients at ‘Ground Zero’ in this fight, and we will employ every tool that guides them toward better cardiovascular health.”

St. Bernards Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Max Arroyo said Dr. Kadavath joins the region’s top-ranked heart and vascular team.

“We talk about St. Bernards offering comprehensive heart and vascular services,” Dr. Arroyo said. “Regardless of the patient’s need, we have a team to meet it. Dr. Kadavath has an incredible track record helping patients across the U.S., and we’re honored she chose to practice here.”

Fluent in six languages, Dr. Kadavath holds certifications in two common heart care procedures, known as TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) and MitraClip therapy. In her spare time, Dr. Kadavath enjoys spending time with friends and family. She lives in Jonesboro.
