Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Jonathan Pennington Joins St. Bernards First Care

Jonathan Pennington, D.O., has joined the medical staff at St. Bernards First Care, specializing in family medicine services that follow patients from infancy to adulthood and identify health issues that run in families.

Growing up in Heber Springs, Dr. Pennington arrives at St. Bernards after completing a Family Medicine Residency with UAMS North Central Regional Campus in Batesville. Prior to his residency, he graduated from UCA in Conway before earning his doctorate of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) in 2020 as a member of NYITCOM at Arkansas State’s inaugural graduating class. Now, as a member of St. Bernards Medical Group, he sees patients at St. Bernards First Care’s Parker Road Clinic in Jonesboro.

Dr. Pennington said his desire to practice medicine stems from his mother, a nurse, helping their local community. From there, he formed an interest in family medicine.

“I love family medicine because you’re a ‘jack-of-all-trades,’” Dr. Pennington said. “You have to stay up-to-date on all the latest information on a variety of topics. As a primary care provider, I look forward to taking care of my Jonesboro community.”

Dr. Pennington holds board certification in Family Medicine, and membership with the American Medical Association and American Academy of Family Physicians. In his spare time, he enjoys running, biking, walking his dog and spending time with his fiancée, Olivia.
