St. Bernards Welcomes Radiologist Dr. Mac Deveney

Oct 01, 2021

Macalaster “Mac” Deveney, D.O., has joined the medical team at Associated Radiologists practicing at St. Bernards Medical Center and St. Bernards Imaging Center. Dr. Deveney, who specializes in radiology and breast imaging services, arrives at St. Bernards after completing a breast imaging fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Dr. Deveney earned his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine. He subsequently completed a residency in radiology at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

A native of Memphis, Dr. Deveney said the idea of practicing medicine closer to home appealed to him. He stressed, however, that the mission and capabilities at St. Bernards drew him westward of the Mississippi River.

“It’s exciting to join a close-knit medical community that values the most-advanced technologies and practices,” Dr. Deveney said, “My family and I felt an immediate connection here, and I look forward to serving Northeast Arkansas.”

St. Bernards Medical Center Administrator Michael Givens said the addition of Dr. Deveney displays St. Bernards’ commitment to meet an overall increased demand across the region for imaging services.

“Routine screenings and early detection of diseases have saved countless lives across our region and improved patients’ quality of life,” Givens said. “Dr. Deveney joins an incredible team at St. Bernards Imaging Center, and he brings a skillset that will only improve upon what we have in place.”

Dr. Deveney has been married to his wife, Angela, for 11 years, and together, they have a three-year-old daughter, Bailey James. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering with area nonprofits as well as reading, music, sports, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
