Psychiatrist Danny Tran, D.O., has taken a full-time position with the medical team at St. Bernards Behavioral Health Unit. Dr. Tran arrives at St. Bernards after serving as the chief psychiatry resident at Unity Health White County Medical Center in Searcy.

A native of Texas, Dr. Tran earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) in Mesa in 2016 after attending the Universities of Texas in Austin and North Texas in Fort Worth.

St. Bernards Medical Center Administrator Michael Givens said the addition of Dr. Tran demonstrates the healthcare system’s commitment to mental health.

“Dr. Tran comes to St. Bernards in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic, a time when we have seen a growing need for mental health assistance,” Givens said.

Givens also noted that Dr. Tran has worked two years for St. Bernards and another northeast Arkansas behavioral health facility part time.

“Dr. Tran knows St. Bernards, our region and the specific mental health issues we face here,” Givens said. “His prior experience will give him a seamless transition to working full time at St. Bernards Behavioral Health.”

Dr. Tran belongs to both the Arkansas Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association. He lives in Jonesboro with his wife.
