St. Bernards Schedules Annual Butterfly Release Program for October 18
St. Bernards Advocates will host the 12th annual Butterfly Release celebration and remembrance event on Sunday, Oct. 18 in honor or memory of regional residents affected by hospice care.
To maintain proper social distancing, the program will take place virtually this year. Live butterflies will still be available for pick-up, but the program will take place on the St. Bernards Healthcare Facebook page.
Participants may purchase a butterfly in honor or in memory of a loved one for $15, or they may purchase 10 butterflies for $135. Butterfly pick-ups will be from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 in the St. Bernards Imaging Center parking lot located at 1144 E. Matthews Ave. The live Facebook program, featuring a local family impacted by the St. Bernards Hospice program, will be begin at 2 p.m. that day. Individuals and families are encouraged to coincide their butterfly releases with the live stream.
St. Bernards Advocates sponsor the event with all proceeds benefiting the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. St. Bernards Advocates are a group of young professionals who volunteer and raise funds to help support St. Bernards programs. Hospice care helps patients nearing their end of life find peace in comfort and with dignity through Christ-like care.
