St. Bernards recently partnered with an online healthcare marketplace to help residents with high-deductible health plans save money and get more of the medical care they need.
Patients at St. Bernards will have access to a variety of medical procedures – including bariatric surgery and imaging services – at up-front prices that they may pay with cash or with a health savings account.
For many patients, out-of-pocket expenses prevent individuals and families from getting medical care they need, especially preventive procedures that could help prevent future health issues. St. Bernards is working to create better options for these patients.
“In today’s marketplace, healthcare can be confusing and expensive, especially for consumers who are uninsured or carry high-deductible insurance plans,” said Ben Barylske, Chief Financial Officer of St. Bernards Healthcare. “This service can help these patients access the same quality healthcare they have come to expect at any of our healthcare facilities at a lower cost.”
Services currently available through St. Bernards Medical Center include bariatric surgeries like gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and laparoscopic gastric band removal. Imaging services, including mammograms, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds, are available at several locations including St. Bernards Imaging Center in Jonesboro, Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, CrossRidge Community Hospital in Wynne and St. Bernards Urgent Care Clinic in Kennett, Missouri.
“We are taking an important step toward making healthcare more accessible and affordable,” says Barylske. “We know that the cost of preventive treatments is often a factor in consumers neglecting to have them. We hope that our strategic alliance will increase access to quality medical care and, as a result, help save lives.”
