Moments of Remembrance Scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 12

Dec 11, 2018

St. Bernards Hospice will host its annual Christmas season event, “Moments of Remembrance,” on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernards Auditorium, 505 East Washington.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for families who have lost loved ones during the year. Sharing memories and celebrating the lives of those loved ones can help surviving family members begin to restore the joy of life. “Moments of Remembrance” gives family members a chance to do just that.

Each family is encouraged to bring a Christmas ornament in memory of their loved one, and the family will be provided a tag to attach to the ornament bearing the name of their loved one. Ornaments will be placed on a Celebration Tree symbolizing the way memories of our loved ones continue to add significance and inspiration to our own lives. After the service, families are welcomed to take the ornament home with them. If not, the ornament will be placed on the Celebration Tree and will remain in a place of honor throughout the holiday season at the Hospice House. If desired, the ornament can also be picked up from the Hospice House after the holiday season.

Established in 1989, St. Bernards Hospice provides holistic care of patients with life-limiting illnesses either in the patient’s home or at the free-standing Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at 1148 East Matthews Ave.
