On Tuesday, Dec. 10, St. Bernards will host a Community Celebration and Grand Opening of the new surgical and intensive care tower, located on the main acute care facility in downtown Jonesboro.
The Grand Opening festivities begin at 10 a.m., with remarks from hospital leaders and community officials. After the program, community members are invited to tour the new facility. This will be the only time tours will be available to the public, as the building will open for patient care later that week.
Later that evening, the St. Bernards Auxiliary is hosting the 21st annual Light Up a Life event, which raises funds for Cancer Support Rooms located at St. Bernards Villa. The Cancer Support Rooms at St. Bernards Villa offer residential housing, meals, transportation and supportive care for patients receiving long-term cancer therapy at St. Bernards Cancer Center.
Light Up a Life will be the official lighting event of the Christmas tree located in the St. Bernards tower. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, with Santa arriving at 6 p.m. to visit with children and read a story.
If you would like to purchase an ornament in honor or memory of someone to be displayed on the Christmas tree in the tower, please contact the St. Bernards Foundation at 870.207.2500 or email kmerryman@sbrmc.org.
