St. Bernards Healthcare announced that Internal Medicine Specialist and Jonesboro native Veronica Easton, M.D. has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team. Dr. Easton arrives at St. Bernards after completing a Palliative Care Fellowship with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis.
A graduate of Valley View High School, Dr. Easton worked at St. Bernards Medical Center while earning her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Arkansas State University. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2018 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock before completing an Internal Medicine Residency with UTHSC in 2021. She now joins a team of more than 20 multi-specialty healthcare providers started by the late Dr. Owen Clopton nearly 60 years ago.
“The Clopton Clinic team has a long history of serving this community,” Dr. Easton said. “It’s a privilege to be a part of that legacy, helping patients here.”
Dr. Easton’s arrival will only strengthen the care options at St. Bernards Clopton Clinic, said Ben Owens, Jr., M.D., Internal Medicine Specialist.
“Access to care remains a critical component of what we do,” Dr. Owens said. “Dr. Easton is from this area, and she understands the specific challenges our patients face each day. She will prove an incredible addition to St. Bernards as a whole.”
Dr. Easton holds certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine. She lives in Jonesboro with her husband, Chad, a physical therapist with St. Bernards, and their daughter, Rylee.
