St. Bernards Healthcare announced Thursday, October 14, its selection to the Forbes list of Best-In-State Employers 2021, taking Arkansas' top spot among the "Healthcare & Social" industries.
Forbes Media LLC compiled the rankings as a partnership with statistics portal and industry-ranking provider Statista Inc. The list stems from a nationwide, independent survey of approximately 80,000 workers among companies with more than 500 employees.
St. Bernards Healthcare President and CEO Chris Barber said St. Bernards always strives to provide an environment where individuals can thrive in the work environment.
"We believe the St. Bernards mission 'to provide Christ-like healing to the community' means having a talented and capable team who passionately lives it," Barber said. "We're a family here, and the work our team does has far-reaching impacts within our region."
Forbes based its evaluation on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who rated their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Forbes also asked employees to evaluate other employers in their respective industry and state that stood out either positively or negatively.
"It's humbling any time we receive an award from the very people who serve here," Barber said. "We look forward to continuing to lead and innovate how we operate as an employer. Future healthcare delivery depends on it."
