Angie Smith of Lake City has been named Vice President of Nursing at St. Bernards Medical Center.
A native of Lake City, Smith previously served in various roles from 2002 – 2014 at St. Bernards including Patient Care Manager, Education Team Leader, Advance Clinical Educator, Nurse Recruiter, Director of Education and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
In 2015, she took an Assistant Professor position at Arkansas State University in the School of Nursing, after serving as an adjunct theory and clinical instructor for several years.
Smith received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1994 from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2005 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2017, both from Arkansas State.
In her role as Vice President of Nursing, Smith will direct all nursing activities at St. Bernards Medical Center, including education, recruitment, leadership and quality.
Smith, licensed as both a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Arkansas, holds the following certifications: Certified Nurse Educator from the National League of Nurses, Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and Critical Care Nurse from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Smith and her husband, Greg Smith, have two children, Lauren and Grant.
She is the daughter of Philip and Shirley Taylor of Pocahontas.
