Dr. Mallory Hurst, new St. Bernards dermatologist, will be the reader for Stories in the Forest Saturday, Aug. 5, at The Mall at Turtle Creek.
She will read A Peach on the Beach by Kamala Karina Millwood.
The book is one of Millwood’s Peach the Duck books. In this one, Peach learns about the importance of using sunscreen on the beach – and at other times. It incorporates fun illustrations and uses simple rhyming to captivate young listeners.
A Peach on the Beach was published by Bookstand Publishing in 2015.
The Stories in the Forest program gives parents some quality time with their children and exposes children to some favorite books of local residents. It is sponsored by St. Bernards Women’s Council. a group of about 120 area women who have joined together in an advisory role to give input on important healthcare issues impacting women and children.
The council encourages educational as well as service outreach efforts designed to make Jonesboro a better place to live, work and raise families.
Stories in the Forest is scheduled for 3 p.m. at St. Bernards Fun Forest at The Mall at Turtle Creek on Saturday, Aug. 5, and is open to the public at no charge.
