In the month of September, St. Bernards is celebrating National PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Month by honoring the first PACE program in Arkansas, Total Life Healthcare.

What is Total Life Healthcare?
For 11 years, St. Bernards Total Life Healthcare (TLH) has been providing comprehensive health services – basically ALL needed health services with the goal of keeping seniors independent and well in the community. Total Life Healthcare is a PACE program – Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly. This program is designed to care for the needs of elderly residents of the Jonesboro area who want and are still able to live at home with a little help.

How is Total Life helping older adults?
These services are giving the families breaks while giving the participants interaction along with preventive and primary, acute care. The interdisciplinary team consists of nurses, therapists, dietitians, social workers and even drivers who give personal assessments for individuals so participants get services they need and aren’t enrolled in programs they may not need. TLH provides care and services in the home, the community and at the Total Life Healthcare center at 505 East Matthews Ave.

What makes Total Life unique?
Total Life Healthcare is unique because of its attention to detail. The staff, who serve with a 4:1 worker to patient ratio, are passionate about keeping residents mobile and comfortable. A family connection has developed within the care facility and within the services is inspirational. The interdisciplinary team is dedicated to keeping services and care up-to-date by meeting every single morning to discuss priorities of individuals to ensure the best managed care.

“The uniqueness of the program is how passionate workers here are to help participants with their managed care,” said Beth Wallace, nurse at St. Bernards Total Life Healthcare. “We are able to provide services and have great stories because we treat participants like family.”
