Be Healthy at the Health & Fitness Expo
Get ready! It’s almost time for the St. Bernards Medical Group Health and Fitness Expo and it includes something for everyone. From cooking demonstrations in our Healthy Cooking Kitchen to physician panel discussions, from booths related to health and fitness and free health screenings, from a certified 5K, half-marathon to a kids 1 mile fun run ¬¬̶ it’s all geared toward improving overall health and fitness of people in the region. This physician led event also features Molly the Megabody Adventure, Healthy Treasure Hunt and much more in our Kid’s Zone.
On Saturday, April 16, and Sunday April 17, you can take advantage of free health screenings. Arkansas currently ranks 2nd in the nation in the number of strokes per capita, 4th in the nation in both heart disease and chronic lower respiratory disease, 3rd in kidney disease and 1st in influenza and pneumonia, besides that we have the dubious distinction of having the highest percentage of obese adults. The leading cause of death in both males and females in Arkansas is heart disease and it accounts for 23.8% of deaths.
We want Arkansas to be Healthy!
So, what are we doing about it? We are giving you, your families and friends the opportunity to begin a journey toward better health by taking advantage of free screenings that save you hundreds of dollars, learn about products and services that can make you healthier and talk one-on-one with some of our physicians.
