Patients who have had a tubal sterilization procedure may later desire to become pregnant. A tubal reversal surgical procedure may be an option for these patients. Also called tubal reanastamosis, the tubal reversal is performed to reconnect a woman's fallopian tubes. Utilizing a special operating microscope, the tubes are sewn together to restore patency. For most patients, this procedure is done on an outpatient basis, not requiring a hospital stay.
