Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. We are pleased that you have expressed an interest in learning more about us. Our mission is to support and educate tomorrow's leaders with the goal of providing skilled, compassionate care to their community and foster a drive for lifelong professional development.

Here at St. Bernards, we pride ourselves on our collegiate atmosphere, with faculty and physicians who are committed to providing education and support to our future leaders in health care through direct involvement in the education process via lectures and shared patient care. We foster a friendly, education-focused environment with emphasis on the health and well-being of our community as well as our residents. We continually strive to further advance our involvement in research and advancement of our profession as a whole.

St. Bernards has been named one of the state’s “Best Places to Work” for six years running. We cover a 23-county service area and have 438 beds, with construction of a four-story surgical and intensive care tower currently underway.

We strive to be the best choice in clinical education for Osteopathic and Allopathic residents by providing a quality, comprehensive learning experience. Our graduates will provide superior medical care to its communities of Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri and beyond. They will ultimately become extremely competent, compassionate and responsible providers for the communities they serve in their careers. Our vision is graduating the academically based, broadly trained, self-sufficient physician who can move directly into practice or fellowship with confidence.

As program director, I have dedicated myself to being an advocate for my residents as well as providing opportunities for learning and research. My goal is always to provide a structured but fair environment for the educational experience here in which the residents will receive the best education possible.

Thank you for your interest in our program, and we look forward to hearing from you soon! Feel free to contact Wade Freer, our program coordinator, or myself, with any questions you may have. My contact information is listed below.
