One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
The Ma’am Mobile is a women’s health center on wheels. Staffed with registered mammographers, the mobile travels to areas where women may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive breast health services.
After age 40, it is recommended patients receive an annual screening mammogram.
Patients for mobile screening must:
- Have no symptoms (lumps, masses or any other breast problems)
- Have no personal history of breast cancer
- Have a primary care physician who can receive the report
Results: Each participant will have a report sent to their physician and will receive a letter within10 -14 days. If the report is abnormal, this letter will be sent by certified mail. Each participant MUST have a primary care physician listed on their registration form to ensure that the participant will have a physician to assist in coordinating their care if follow-up testing is required.
