Jacque Hurd has been named vice president for human resources at St. Bernards Medical Center.
The holder of a bachelor’s degree in business from Arkansas State University, she is a certified senior professional in human resources.
Hurd has served as director of human resources at St. Bernards for the last 11 years. In her new role she will oversee planning, administration and overall supervision of the human resources department, employment center, recruitment, corporate payroll and employee risk management as well as other corporatewide HR activities.
She also has worked in HR at three other healthcare institutions in Northeast Arkansas. Immediately before coming to St. Bernards, she served as director of human resources and corporate compliance officer at Mid-South Health Systems in Jonesboro. From1997 to 1999, she was vice president of HR, marketing and ancillary services at Lawrence Memorial Health Services in Walnut Ridge. And from 1996 to 1997, she served as director of HR, marketing and volunteer services at Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas.
Hurd holds membership in local and national affiliates of the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
In addition, she is a member and past-president of the Arkansas Hospital Human Resource Association.
Locally, she is a member of the Greater Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce, the Valley View Parent Teacher Association, the St. Bernards Women’s Advisory Council and the St. Bernards Advocates. She is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Jonesboro, a 1999 graduate of Leadership Lawrence County and a past board member of the American Red Cross Disaster Assistance program.
The daughter of the late Johnie and Pat Jackson, she grew up in Newark. She has two children, Greyson and Alex Ballard, both of whom attend Valley View schools, and two grown stepchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Hurd. She and her husband, Mark, attend Valley View Church of Christ.
