Kirby Kaye Massey has been named recruiter for St. Bernards Medical Center.
A native of Jonesboro and a graduate of Jonesboro High School, Massey leads efforts in recruiting for all positions in the medical center with the exception of physicians. She travels to college job fairs, recruiting students in healthcare career fields and also makes other recruiting trips in search of employees. She will be in charge of a career fairs on the St. Bernards campus and will tour St. Bernards facilities with applicants new to the area.
Massey works in conjunction with the St. Bernards Employment Center team to develop recruiting activities and reports to the director of human resources, functioning as a liaison between departments needing assistance in recruiting. She also participates in nursing initiatives that affect nurse retention as well as recruiting.
Massey holds a bachelor’s degree in radio television from Arkansas State University and formerly worked as an admissions counselor for ASU-Jonesboro. She also worked as a counselor at Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge Camp in Mount Union, Pa. A member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, she is the daughter of Dean and Janice Massey of Jonesboro.
She has been a summer reporting intern at KAIT-TV and served as an Amateur Athletic Union head swim coach in Jonesboro. As an ASU student, Massey was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta, serving as president of that Greek organization. She was named ASU Greek Woman of the Year and was recognized for academic accomplishments.
She has worked with Special Olympics since 2004, has served on the VIP panel for United Cerebral Palsy Telethon fund-raisers and serves on the Jonesboro Jets swim team board.
