Brad Edwards Chairs Foundation Board

 

Brad Edwards, president and chief executive officer of First Security Bank in Jonesboro, has been named to a two-year term as chairman of the board of directors of the St. Bernards Development Foundation.

 

Edwards has served as a member of the board since 2007. An Arkansas State University graduate, he has worked in banking in Northeast Arkansas for a number of years.

 

He is active in the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and served as chairman of the chamber board of directors during 2008-09. He has been a member of the chamber board since 2005.

 

His community involvement includes serving as a member of the St. Bernards Advocates, a group of leaders dedicated to supporting the mission of St. Bernards. (The organization is perhaps best known for sponsoring the very successful annual fund-raising event known as Triple Swing.). He served as chairman of the Advocates during 2006-07. In addition, he serves on the board of Jonesboro Economic Development Corporation and is on the loan review committee of East Arkansas Planning and Development District.

 

Edwards earned a degree in finance at Arkansas State University and completed training at the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking in 2002. He is an active member of the ASU Chancellor’s Cabinet and the Arkansas State University Red Wolf Club, having served on that club’s board since 2008. He is a 1924 sustaining life member of the ASU Alumni Association and serves on the board of the ASU McAdams-Frierson Chair of Management. He is a graduate of the Leadership Jonesboro Class of 1993.

 

Edwards and his wife, Michele, have two sons, Will, 14, and Sam, 11. They are members of First Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon.

 

The St. Bernards Development Foundation is a charitable organization established to support the mission of St. Bernards Healthcare – that of providing Christ-like healing to the community through education, treatment and health services. The foundation exists to accept philanthropic gifts for St. Bernards Healthcare and is governed by a board of 15 community leaders.
