Fifty-two employees – including four with 30 years of service or more – were honored at a recent quarterly employee recognition dinner at St. Bernards Medical Center. Honorees included those whose employment anniversary dates came in the fourth quarter of 2011 and whose length of service fell into five-year increments.
The honorees accounted for nearly 600 years of service to St. Bernards, with two having been on staff for 35 years, two for 30 years, three for 25 years, six for 20 years, five for 15 years, 10 for 10 years and 24 for five years.
Employees represent 15 towns and communities in seven different Arkansas counties. In Craighead County, 34 are from Jonesboro and one each from Bay, Bono, Caraway, Cash and Lake City.
Four employees are from Greene County, two from Lawrence, four from Poinsett and one each from Clay, Mississippi and Randolph
Those with the longest tenures are Mary L. Birdsong of Bay and Robin Caldwell of Jonesboro who have been on staff for 35 years. Thirty-year honorees are Brenda Wright of Marked Tree and Belinda Yancy of Jonesboro. Birdsong works in labor and delivery; Caldwell works in respiratory care; Wright is in nursing administration; and Yancy is in surgery.
Twenty-five year employees include Sherry J. Gibson of Cash, emergency department; Robert Strahan of Jonesboro, cardiac catheterization lab; and Karen Warren of Hoxie, respiratory care.
Twenty-year employees are Charles Burnett of Jonesboro, respiratory care; Al Ismmael of Jonesoro, in-patient dialysis; Brenda Million of Jonesboro, vice president and chief nursing officer; Jacqueline Pankey of Biggers, respiratory care; Lisa Smithee of Jonesboro, gasteroenterology lab; and Teresa Wilson of Jonesboro, nuclear medicine.
Fifteen-year employees are Patricia Eskridge of Harrisburg, business office; Chastity Kelley of Jonesboro, emergency department; Amy Roark of Harrisburg, business office; Terry Thompson of Jonesboro, surgery; and William Wray of Jonesboro, information services.
