St. Bernards Auxiliary Presents Health Professions Scholarships

The St. Bernards Auxiliary has presented $20,000 in nursing and health professions scholarships to 10 individuals for the coming school year. Auxilians presented seven scholarships to bachelor of science in nursing students, two to master of science in nursing students and one to a radiologic technology student.

Recipients include John Bean of Highland; Roselyn M. Chambers of Pine Bluff; Justin Cook of Bono; Rebecca Cowie of Paris; Samantha Davis of Jonesboro; Jamie Kain of Trumann; Lark Little or Jonesboro; Kyle Medlin of Wynne; Aimee Shrable of Manila; and Latoya Webb of Jonesboro.

Bean is a senior working toward his bachelor of science in nursing degree at Arkansas State University. He is the son of Dana Greer of Highland.

Chambers also is a senior working toward her bachelor of science in nursing degree at ASU. She is the daughter of Belinda Chambers of Pine Bluff.

Cook is a sophomore in the radiologic technology program at ASU. He is the son of John and Patricia Cook of Bono.

Cowie is working toward her master of science in nursing degree. She is the daughter of Mary Beth Askins and the late A.J. Askins of Paris.

Davis is a senior in the bachelor of science in nursing program at ASU and the daughter of Tina Grace of Jonesboro.

Kain is a sophomore in the bachelor of science in nursing program at ASU. A Trumann resident, she is the daughter of Lee and Pam Race of Gillett, Wisc.

Little is a senior in the bachelor of science in nursing program at ASU. She is the daughter of Kathy Blackman of Jonesboro.

Medlin is a junior in the ASU bachelor of science in nursing program. He is the son of Jerry and Sonja Medlin of Wynne.

Shrable also is a junior in the ASU bachelor of science in nursing program. She is the daughter of Tracy and Verna Shrable of Manila.

Webb is working toward a master of science in nursing degree at ASU. She is the daughter of Pam and Jerry Goff of Jonesboro.

The Auxiliary has been awarding scholarships to health professions students for more than two decades and has made available about $200,000 in financial assistance over that period of time.
