- The division of Patient Care Services (also known as Nursing) includes a team of dedicated individuals who strive to provide the highest quality patient care possible. Specialized nursing areas include MICU, CVICU, SICU, CCU, Pediatrics, Maternal/Infant, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care, Orthopedics, Neurology, Urology, Oncology, Medical/Surgical, Cardiology, One Day Surgery and Observation. Nursing Directors assume the responsibilities for their particular specialty area.
- The St. Bernards Clinical Education Institute is provided for all nursing professionals in order to meet a variety of complex and diverse continuing educational needs. Educational opportunities are provided for both employees and non-employees as required by state licensing mandates to enable them to perform reliably and skillfully. Regional and statewide seminars are sponsored by St. Bernards and attract large numbers of nursing professionals to update technical skills.
- In addition, St. Bernards serves as the clinical laboratory for the Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Degree programs for the College of Nursing for Arkansas State University. Student practical nurses are also given this opportunity through the technical center of Arkansas State. This program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Council of Associate Degree Programs and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools with full approval by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
