At St. Bernards we never lose sight of the importance of maintaining quality and integrity in the care we provide. Whether it is direct patient care, education efforts or some other form of outreach you can be sure we work diligently to be certain our programs and facilities will meet the healthcare demands of tomorrow.

As a way of monitoring our progress, we annually publish a Quality Report Card to document efforts that help us remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence in healthcare. We adhere to guidelines set forth by the most well-respected accrediting bodies in the healthcare field. And our performance is evaluated regularly.

JCAHO Quality Check
St. Bernards recently received re-accreditation by JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), earning the Gold Seal of Approval from the nation's leading healthcare standards-setting and accrediting body. The evaluation team, which focuses on improving quality and safety of care, praised the hospital's continuing commitment to improving quality and safety of care.

Our accreditation earns us a place in JCAHO’s Quality Check, a Web-based source of accreditation and comparison information designed to help patients select the healthcare organization best suited to their needs.

Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA)
St. Bernards also participates in Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care Through Information, a public-private collaboration focused on improving the quality of care in hospitals throughout the nation, by measuring and publicly reporting on care.

The alliance has identified a robust set of measures to improve quality of care and to offer consumers information to help them make informed healthcare choices. St. Bernards voluntarily follows the HQA guidelines, and our results are publicly reported in 'Hospital Compare,' a new, user-friendly Web tool offering credible information about the quality of care delivered in U.S. hospitals.
