Radiation Oncology

The Radiation Oncology unit housed inside the Ben E. Owens Cancer Treatment Center is staffed by board-certified radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, certified medical dosimetrist, registered radiation therapist and nurses.

Our staff utilizes the latest in treatment and treatment planning techniques with 2D/3D and inverse planning available. A simulator and high-energy linear accelerators with both electron and photon beams are available to treat cancer.

We utilize external beam therapy which includes Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) along with both low dose rate (LDR) and high dose rate (HDR)brachytherapy.,

Our Auxiliary House is available to provide overnight accommodations at nominal cost for patients who must travel long distances for treatment.
