St. Bernards Ben E. Owens Cancer Treatment Center’s Art Therapy program helps patients cope emotionally and psychologically with their cancer by expressing themselves through artwork.
This unique therapy can help patients achieve healing and integration of the mind, body and spirit. The holistic program is made possible thanks to Arkansas Radiation Medicine and the Ben E. Owens Cancer Treatment Center, with the support of a generous grant from the American Cancer Society. This funding is used to cover program costs, including art supplies.

St. Bernards Research Center was founded in 2005 to complement and support the overall mission of St. Bernards—to provide Christ-like healing to the community through education, treatment and health services. We work to unite professionals, academia, industry and members of our community.
The Center employs a full-time research coordinator and additional support staff who collaborate with healthcare professionals from the family practice residency program from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (AHEC Northeast) and Arkansas State University.
St. Bernards Research Center conducts both outpatient and inpatient clinical research studies. Projects are currently underway in partnership with Merck Research Labs, Alcon Labs and Omnicare Clinical Research Organization. Additional studies are in progress with Wyeth Labs and Medifacts.
